Beach Day

It is Saturday, and John doesn't have to work today! He suggested this morning that we visit one of Seattle's many beaches. We ended up going to a beach in Burian, WA called Seahurst Park. There was some sand for the kids to play in, logs to sit on, rocks to throw in the water, and a beautiful view of the Sound. We had a picnic (although Emilio was too excited to really sit down and eat, so he carried his sandwhich around whilst it became sandier and sandier, but he ate every last bite eventually......yum, CRUNCHY). Gabi loved sitting in the sand and shoveling it into her beloved sandpail (which she likes to carry around like a purse over her arm :) Emilio loved chasing the seagulls and yelling at them (which he seems to do with most birds these days) and Gabi sat in her same spot and having learned from her brother, yelled at the birds sitting down. It was funny. Emilio also loved throwing rocks into the water over and over again. By the end of our beach trip they were covered from head to toe in sand (in desperate need of a bath). John and I enjoyed reading while we were there and watching the kids have so much fun. It was a great Saturday morning! Here are some pix;
