John's parents left early yesterday morning after spending the weekend with us. John suggested that we do something fun as a family today since he had the day off. We made a lunch here at home, hopped in the car and headed up to Seattle to catch a ferry to Bainbridge Island. We decided to just take the kids in the jogging strollers and walk onto the ferry instead of drive (it is cheaper that way). Emilio loved being on the big boat and looking out at the water as we were riding. We ate our little picnic lunch and arrived in Bainbridge Island about 35 minutes after leaving Seattle. We walked around Bainbridge for about 2 hours window shopping (that's all we could afford, it is very expencive there), except for the delicious ice cream we got at Mora's Ice Creamery. Emilio chose a blueberry ice cream, Gabi got a Mango sorbet which Daddy helped her eat, and I chose Banana Split (banana ice cream with huge glops of caramel and chunks of chocolate in it). Wow, was it good ice cream. What a treat! After exploring the island for a while on foot we headed back to Seattle in the ferry. We decided to walk up and down the Pier boardwalk in downtown while the kids took naps in the stroller. It was nice for John and I to have time to catch up and talk. It is amazing how little time you have together with kiddos around. We ended up at the Old Sphagetti Factory early that evening to finish up our day out on the town. We all enjoyed our sphagetti and yes, we did partake in the free Spumoni ice cream, so that makes for 2 ice creams in a day for us. At least there is the gym tomorrow. There is so much to explore in Washington and it was fun to get to see a little more today.

Sounds like a really fun day! I've always enjoyed riding the ferries in Washington.
Hey Christina,
Did Emilio catch any fish?! What great shots of you, John and the kids!
by the way...there's nothing wrong with having more than one ice cream in a day!
