Highs and Lows

Nothing much new over here. John has a big project due next week so he has been leaving at 5 a.m. and not getting home until 8 or so. It makes for a long day for him and for me too with the kids.

Highs of the week:
*Getting signed up on a yahoo group in my community where I'll get to know other moms.
*Relaxing with Emily and planning our up and coming Spanish playtime while the kids played nicely in the backyard.
*Seeing Emilio enjoy and do really well at swim lessons this week.
*Having new toys for the kids to play with from E's b-day.
*Have made it to the gym everyday this week and the workouts have been energizing.
*Having both possible volunteer and very part time work opportunities arise.
*Seeing my husband come home and how excited we all are to see him each night even if it is late.
*My kids' smiles and laughter are always one of the highlights of my week.
*Time in prayer and the Bible.

Lows of the week:
*Trying to protect Gabi from her brother and all the new Pirate and Samouri weapons he received for his b-day last weekend from his Uncle Michael (thanks Mike!)
*Trying to tell Emilio that I am putting the batman side of his cape on him (my parents got him this awesome cape that has Superman on one side and Batman on the other...he prefers Batman right now, but when he has it on, he can see the red Superman underside and is convinced that I have put Superman on him, so I have to really put Superman on him so he sees Blue on the underside and then he's happy...I don't know if that made since, but he's so stubborn).
*Trying to convince my daughter that a Playtex Tampon is not a popsicle (she found them in our bathroom this week and walked up to me saying "pop pop" with a smile on her face. She also managed to get the wrapper off at one point and put her mouth on it...eewwwwww!).
*Trying to change two gross diapers at the pool whilst helping Emilio in the changing tent (that he's obsessed with) and make him believe he dressed all by himself.
*Making dinner every night with Gabi clinging to me like a leach and whining (she gets really crabby when she's hungry and she's teething right now).
*Dealing with my son's nightmares (starts crying and screaming in his sleep) almost everynight this week (it is really becoming a problem, and would love any advice people have for dealing with it).
*Trying to get my kids in bed (bath, pj's, teeth, books, etc) before my corny reality tv shows start (Biggest Loser and Top Model).
*Seeing my tired husband after a super long day of work and knowing he'll have to do it again the next day.
