Fun Fall Weekend

My parents came into town on Friday night from Portland. We hadn't seen them since Labor Day weekend, so they decided to come up and visit. On Saturday morning we had a breakfast tea party (per Gabi's request). We ate homemade pumpkin muffins, yogurt, fruit, and white chocolate and sprinkle covered pretzels that Nana had made.

We all headed over to Emilio's soccer game together mid morning. It was cold and windy outside, but still fun to see our little guy running up and down the field. He got the first goal of the game too! Uncle Mike and his family came to watch too, as well as some neighbor friends who were running by.
After rest time, we headed over to Marco's soccer game in the afternoon. He's on a 3/4 year old team, and so there isn't as much running going on. Marco was happy sitting in a grass hole picking weeds most of the time. He was cute in his over sized shirt though. We saw him run and connect with the ball a little which his Dad was very proud of. He's still pretty young, so he did great.

My cousin and her family drove up from Portland to meet up with us that afternoon as well. They are MAF missionaries in Papua, Indonesia, but are on furlough at this time. We headed over to Michael and Emily's house for dinner and dessert to hear about all their adventures and their life in Wamena, Papua. It was fascinating to hear about their experiences. Isaac, my cousin Amber's husband, is a pilot for MAF and flies people to various villages and cities every day for different meetings, medical emergencies, etc. It is amazing to see how God is using them on the other side of the world!!!

On Sunday, we had the girls dedicated at our church. We had Emilio dedicated in Chicago when we lived there, but hadn't had a chance to do it for the girls yet. John spoke and did a very nice job relaying our hopes and dreams for our two sweet girls to the congregation. My parents and bro's family came to watch as well. We missed having John's family at the dedication this time.

After church we went out for lunch, and then to a local pumpkin farm that was only 1-2 miles from our house. It was small, but had everything we were looking for in a pumpkin patch visit. The gorgeous fall day helped out too, it was beautiful yesterday with the sun shining down on us. The kids loved seeing the chickens, goats, turkeys, pigs, and geese. There was also a new puppy there to love on too. The kids picked out their pumpkins, and some kettle corn for a snack.

We ended up hosting my cousin's family again last night because their host family up north were sick. We didn't mind, as the kids loved playing together, and we enjoyed visiting more with Isaac and Amber. We made chili and cornbread, roasted S'mores in the alley way, and played Hand and Foot too.2nd Cousins

What a wonderful blessed Fall weekend!
