Fair Fun!

Last weekend we took a family trip to the fair! It was a warm, sunny day, so we hopped in the car after E's soccer game and headed south. We parked 6 blocks away from the fairgrounds so we could save $10 bucks on parking, that's just how we roll. We got some teriyaki to share with the kids, and then went to check out the animals. Luci was very entertained by the goats. We got to see a sheep being sheered, and a mama pig with eleven babies. The piglets were so cute nursing, they were falling asleep like a human infant does while nuzzled up next to their mama. After we admired the animals, we went to check out the rides. The lines were so long to get tickets, so we decided to buy Fisher scones and take a break. The scones are notorious at the fair. They are served warm with raspberry jam.....DELICIOUS! While we ate up the rest of the crumbs from our scones, John went and got the ride tickets for the kids. Unfortunately, even though he spent $20 on ride tickets, the older two only were able to ride two rides each. They happened to want to go together, and they DID have a blast, smiling and whooping with cheer on both the helicopter and plane rides! We had a great day as a family at the fair, even if it was $$$$$ fun!
