Anyway, we put together some boo baskets ourselves this week which included; pumpkin pails, halloween hand towels, candy dishes complete with candy corn kisses (if you haven't tried those yet, you are in for a treat), and orange peppermint patties of course (my fav in the choco world), caramel apples that we made (with a little note attached just for the parents identifying their booers in case they were wondering if a stranger was giving them homemade poisoned apples or something), halloween inspired rubber duckies, halloween silly bands, a little canister of candy corn mixed with roasted peanuts (another great treat!) and the boo signs and assignment instructions.
The kids and I had so much fun delivering the buckets this year (Daddy was late from getting home from work/school). I really feel like my kids had a lesson in how much more fun it is to give than it is to receive this time around. At the second house, the little girl (a friend of ours) shouted out how excited she was to receive the bucket while she was in the doorway (we happened to be hiding around the corner). She then came out of her house again as we were sneaking away, and screamed at the top of her lungs, "THANK YOU!" It made my kids' night to hear her joy. We really think this is one of the best Halloween traditions out there. If you haven't tried it before, give it a go with a little help from this site. You'll have to start this week if you want to pass it around before Halloween arrives. It can be as simple or elaborate as you'd like. Have fun!
